Whew... I'm on schedule this week.. I was really worried, too. Towards the middle of the week I finally got an idea, but I really wasn't sure about it. I consulted the lovely Phia and she said it'd be good... but.. well, I don't know..
Which leads me to this paragraph.. The idea was to have a sort of alternate reality for our characters. But... talking to the guildsmen, I realized that not many of them were familiar with the theme I was going for. I kind of already have a story in mind, and a cast of characters. The pros HEAVILY outweigh the cons.. so I decided to go for it. I mean, I already have a story, more characters can be introduced, it'll give me a break to think about the original stories, it's just plain fun for me to draw, I feel like I have so much more to work with, etc.... But there are a few cons. First off, almost no one in the guild will know the references to the theme of these new stories, I don't want to give away any spoilers of the actual game, and I am still very unsure of this not having to do with Valhalla in any other way except replacing names, words, anc characters here and there with more RO things.. And the thought of Shun with a goatee.. Uhm, no thanks.. so I improvised. Another thing... the picture is big. It's wider than my usual comics and that makes me uneasy. I don't like having a second scrollbar on the bottom, but I guess it can't be helped. You'll just have to scroll a little more for this one ^^;;;
One more thing~ I plan on making a page with just art dedicated to the characters and etc. of SD. But now that we have this new 'sub plot' I can add what the chars look like there too. Is it just me, or do I get WAY too excited over drawing a butt-load of SD chars and their Safety-Life counterparts? This is gonna be so fun! XDDD

Don't hurt me!! I'm soo sorry about the past few weeks!! My mind has just become a little dry of ideas ^^;;; Don't worry, don't worry - I don't have any plans of discontinuing Safety Dance any time soon. The comic has changed slightly! Can you see the difference? Didn't think so XD I still use my SD exclusive 1 px shading technique, so that makes the difference seem less obvious. But I was reading the Heat Guy J manga (which I love.. I'm a complete and devoted HGJ fangirl) And I thought I'd make Shun look more like his counterpart. And.. less looking like Edward Elric which was all thanks to my Ed fettish. I'm not obsessed already!! I swear!
Whee, okay - lots of paragraphs... So many different topics today!! Anywho, I'm continuing my movie quote thing. Heh, I just can't think of a good one-liner myself, I guess! XD Oh well. This week's is from the movie UHF. One of my favorites. It's an older movie, made back in '89. It predates me just a little >3< ::born in '91::. Anyway, I guess you'd have to know the quote and know Hori, our priest cameo. I did replace 'badgers' with 'monkeys' but that's because Hori Badejiru has a thing for badgers (can't blame him) :D Wow. I had to do a lot of explaining on this one... I hope everyone still thinks it's funny^^;;;;

Ah.. the weeks just keep getting more messed up as they come. A very special friend of mine had a birthday a few days ago and I wanted to do something for him in the comics, but I couldn't. One, I couldn't think of anything at all @_@.. Two, he never actually agreed to be in the comic yet. I haven't been hearing from him lately, seeing as his internet is probably down. It was actually an emotionally stressing week. I was pressured to draw and think up a story at the last minute, but I just couldn't. I'm also very lazy.. and if it wasn't for Uncle Kichiro.. There wouldn't have been a comic at all this week, seeing as I almost forgot to put this one up. I added a few people to the roster of characters. I'm extremely sorry if I forgot and didn't put you up sooner, but lately I seem to be experiencing some degree of ADD... or something. A thousand and one things seem to have to get done, but I just can't focus right. Maybe I drank too many lattes the past couple days @_@...Anyway, I have you in the crew now.
Okay, comic news. Since I've been so lazy/pressed for time this week and couldn't get the comic I had planned up, I thank Autie Kerowyn (Celebrian) GREATLY for letting me use something she made. She did this back when Valhalla was still around for Phia and me. Titled 'Sisterly Love' because, well, Phia and I are sister irl XP Anyway, thanks a TON Kerowyn!

Whew... I had the comic done on time this week and all ready to set up, but, alas, I was really busy this 4th of July so I didn't even have a chance to go on my comp at all yesterday. I hope this isn't too late, and everyone is still in the patriotic mood. ;o; This Friday is also a very special day, so look forward to something good :0;;; I hope.
Yeahn~ More movie quotes. ::does the fan dance:: Anywho, Soylent Green fans rejoice. Others.. may not get it. I was hoping for something a little more in the spirit of the holiday and stuff.. and I originally was going to squeeze a little belated Canada Day stuff in there, but I couldn't really think of anyone who agreed to have their chars in this comic and were Canadian, sooo.... Hehehe... I think my new update day will be Monday. So, this time, I'm actually a little early. I decided to post it now because I really don't have anything better to do. I think I made pretty good time this week, seeing as I had artists' block for two days, and we had a birthday party to do a little earlier in the week.
I seem to have a movie quote theme going on.. If anyone has seen The Stand or remembers Independence Day's lines by heart, then you might have caught the two quotes I slipped in there. If you haven't, no biggy. I think it still makes for an interesting read. I have an idea of what I'm going to have for next week's, but the week after I'm not so sure. A thing I'd like to have in the near future would be guest comics, but I suppose I'll have to improve a bit more before anyone I know thinks this is a worthy place to do me a favor in >_>;;; Again, if anyone has questions or comments, I can be reached by either one of the sources listed under my name on the contact page. In fact, I'm the only one on there so it shouldn't be that hard at all ^_~ I must say, I enjoy hearing feedback, so if you want to contact me just to say "Your comic stinks!!" or something, that'd be fine. Woops! I'm a little bit late again... Argh, I kept losing what I was working on.. Curse my computer for restarting automatically everytime it gets a patch from Microsoft... Bah! And then came Fathers' Day and we had to go shopping... and we just HAD to get a new dog XD;; Well, happy Fathers' Day to all you fathers out there.. and enjoy SD comic number 4!
Just a little explaining to do on this one... It was an inside joke between Phia and I, and you'd really get the joke if you've ever seen or read Dune. Good stuff. This also marks the appearance of two new family members. They just seemed to fit in perfectly here... so welcome Uncles Shion and Kichiro! I've got plenty more of the family who wants to be in it.. and if you're one of those that talked to me about it, don't worry; I'll get around to finding a nice spot for your char. Wow... Ack. I'm a little late getting the new comic up^^;;; Sorry everyone! I was a bit busy last week... You know, shopping, dining out (if you call a food court at a mall 'dining') all that good stuff. Of course, that only took one day, but I couldn't seem to get back in the swing of things the day after. And that was thursday, the day I was depending on to get the comic in for friday. Yeah, so pardon the late comic, and I'll stop making excuses^^;;
Note: If anyone happens to be that "lil Wizzy" mentioned in comic #3, I'm sorry if I offended you by putting you up here as a joke, but it was just the perfect savechat of Phia's - I just had to use it. Now, Mr. lil Wizzy, you're a star in my eyes and none of us here at Safety Dance will forget that conversation ^_^ You made us happy ::thumbs up::

Yatta! The first comic is finnally up~ ::gets all teary-eyed:: Lolz, I'm touching up comic number two, and it will be on it's way soon. I also want to thank the lovely Miss Phia for being the super-cool webdesigner she is~ The site looks spectacular ^o^
And to all you Ragnarok Online fans out there, I just want to say "Read and enjoy!" ...And don't disown me cause I play on private servers.. ::has heard of some iRO people disliking private server players:: Valhalla really was great, and this is my tribute to the effort the GMs put in to it to make it what it was. I'm still sad to see it go, but I hope all the players of vRO remember it as I do. So far, there hasn't been a server that I liked more than it, so it really was something special.
As far as other things go... The second comic will be touched up and ready for today. I'll get working on a third for Friday as well...but that'll be done sometime this week. Until next time, read and enjoy~ ^_^
